The Dancing Sun Blog

When people ask me what I do, I now respond, “I’m a storyteller.” I tell stories of my own and of my clients. Whether it’s a nonprofit organization that needs to show the world how and why they change people’s lives, or a for-profit company that needs to explain how it adds value to the community in which it operates, I use the tools of visual communication to tell their stories in the most powerful and compelling ways I can. I also enjoy the process of shooting video, writing music, editing, mixing sound and visuals.

Hello from Dancing Sun! It is with great pleasure that I am releasing this new version of the Dancing Sun Multimedia website. Dancing Sun has been a part of my company, PKA, since the beginning but has never had a site of its own. Now I can dedicate more of my time and energy to my first love – the graphic arts.

It’s also a pleasure connecting to others with similar interests. So, if you like what you see, or a fellow-traveller, get in touch and we will find a way to pursue common interests.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the fourth anniversary celebration of the African Development Center. This amazing organization is headed up by Hussein Samatar, one of the most inspiring leaders I’ve ever met. I highly recommend a viewing of the video I did for their first anniversary celebration and some of the footage I shot at the event. Check out their website as well: www.adcminnesota.org

Sometime next year I will be doing a revised version of the video, “Re-imagining the American Dream.” I will blog the production of that project as it happens. Hopefully, you will get some insight into how a video like this comes together.
